アラン・カミング特集２☆ Alan Cumming singing “WHY”

チョコレート・ドーナツを観てからアラン・カミングの歌をたくさん聞いてみたいと思われた方も多いのではないでしょうか。
もちろん、私もその一人です。
アラン・カミング特集１ではスタバの店員さんに恋するTaylor the Latte Boy の歌詞の日本語訳を掲載しましたが、今回はもう少ししっとりとした切ないナンバーをご紹介します。
オリジナルはアニー・レノックスというアランと同じスコットランド出身のミュージシャンがソロ活動第一弾として発表したアルバムのオープニングトラック。
いくつものライブパフォーマンスもYouTubeにはアップロードされていて
特にこれなどはしみじみ聞くと泣けてきます。（基本的に私は涙もろい）
切ないけれどとてもパワフルな歌詞でアランの歌っている動画で初めて知ったのですが、この曲自体もとても気に入っています。

アニー・レノックスはのちにこの曲についてこう語っています。
“人生は時にとても不可解で、延々とどうすべきなのか悩み続けている自分がいることに　ふと気が付くことがあります。
また、物事から受けた影響を見つめる事でもあります。
辛く失望に終わった闘いを終えた時、燃えて残った灰を見てを熟考し、自分自身に　あれはいったいなんだったのか、と問うのです。まるで倒壊し燃え落ちた建物の残骸のようにです。“

「燃えて残った灰」！そんな重い思いが描かれている曲なのですね。
アランが曲の最後にニッコリとほほ笑むのがとても印象的です。

This beautiful song was originally sang by Annie Lennox.
I saw several performances of this song by her and all of them are really powerful and touching.
This one especially makes me cry. :*

Annie blogged regarding this song, when promoting her 2009 greatest hits album: The world can be so baffling at times, so you find yourself constantly trying to figure it out…. アラン・カミング特集１☆ Alan Cumming’s Taylor the Latte Boy

チョコレート・ドーナツを観てしばらく経ちますが、未だに毎日チョコレートドーナツの事を思い出さない日が無い位です。
いつもサントラも聴いていて、アラン・カミングの歌を聞いては彼の深い演技を思い出してます。

It’s been a while since I saw Any Day Now in the theatre, but everyday I am still thinking aboout how beautiful that movie was.
I listen to its soundtrack everyday, too.
Listening to Alan singing Rudy’s songs, I remember the scenes of Any Day Now and think how great actor he is.

I like Alan Cumming’s cover version of Taylor the Latte Boy because it’s sweet and has a happy ending!
Well, this happy ending is understandable.
Just imagine Alan Coming up to the counter and smile at you,
no matter who you are, a male or female, who can resist his smile and attraction. 🙂

スターバックスで働く男の子に恋をした女性の歌、”Taylor the latte boy” という曲があります。
元々は純粋な気持ちを歌ったオリジナルだったようですが、
クリスティン・チェノウェスの一方的に恋心を抱き、全てを勘違いしている女子的なカバーが有名なみたいです。
彼女のカバーにはスタバの店員、テイラーくんがストーカー的な彼女を迷惑がる気持ちを歌ったアンサー　ソングのようなものもネットも多くアップロードされてます。
正直、アンサーソングのテイラー君は歌詞を聞いてると恋する女の子に意地悪で酷くて、悲しい気持ちになるくらいなのです（笑）。
こんなテイラー君に恋する女性も恋は盲目だからしかたないのでしょうが・・・彼はろくな男じゃないわ。

さて、そんな中、我らがアラン・カミング王子のカバーは楽しく優しいんです。
そして、ハッピーエンド！
一人称はアラン自身でテイラー君に恋をしてるという設定なのでもちろん、バッドエンドにはしたくなかったのかもしれませんｗ
それに、アランがお客さんでお店に来て自分に向かってほほ笑んでたらテイラー君だってきっと彼の魅力にうっとりしてしまうでしょう。
