ツイッター上で2012.4.17に投稿したもの。
Maroon5の新曲の味わい深いイラストの漫画風のミュージックビデオ。ヴォーカルのアダムの歌う歌詞を聞きながらこのビデオを観てるとじーんときます。ポップだけど切なく優しい歌詞。他の多くのmaroon5の曲がそうであるように、彼女が去っていく内容です。実際のアダムもおとぎ話の中の「そして二人は永遠にくらしました。」を求めているんだろうなあ、って思うと、さらに好きになります。
Payphoneとは公衆電話の事だけど、もちろん携帯のある時代だから、
音の響きとその後の歌詞を隠喩できる所が良かったから使っているのかな、と思います。
例えば私は、家に電話しようとしてるのは、ふと彼女が消え心に隙間ができてしまった時に、親の声がなんとなく聞きたくなったのかな、ともとれたり、家とは元いたところ（彼女と出会う前）を隠喩してて、電話をかけるのに必要なコインは全部使ってしまっていた＝どうやって戻るのかすらわからない、という意味かな、と思ったりしてます。

ラップ部分の歌詞はノリはいいのですが、正直、アダムの美しい歌詞を損ねているように感じるので省略します。。。（（内容としては「君が手放したものは大きいんだぜ、オレはこんなにも成功した。今じゃみんなの憧れの的。後悔してな。」的な感じだと思います。Maroon5がＯＫしたから曲として出来上がっているのでしょうが、ちょっとアダムのかわいいドヤァとは相反する気がしてしまって・・・ｗ））
